Pedestrians and picnickers use the Passerelle Simone de Beauvoir on a warm summer night. The bridge, the 37th in Paris, was designed by Austrian Dietmar Feichtinger and inaugurated in July 2006. It is a symbolic link between the rapidly-developing modern quarter surrounding the National Library of France and the Parc de Bercy across the river. Photo by Danielle Voirin.
