Feb. 27 | The Green Line in the Sand

I'D LIKE to offer you a theory of what's happenin' here. I make no claim of originality, but the presentation and interpretation are my own.

Let's put some pieces together. Just in terms of the basic operative facts of the moment, one movement that we're seeing is the Total Information program mining the Internet, harvesting emails, spying on citizens and even preparing to wage cyber warfare against bloggers and 'enemy computer networks'. Cyber warfare games were played just two weeks ago by the United States military and even received some mainstream press coverage.

At the same time, I keep reading more and more about civilian labor campus and plans for martial law. This comes at the same time that the cabal in Washington is changing the rules for what is fair and legal, and switching to an unabashed 'what we say goes' system: torture, the 'rendering' of prisoners, prisoners held without charges, and anything being potentially an act of 'terrorism' including sending an email. Being aware of these things, one might get the feeling that the Powers That Be are getting ready for something. But just what, exactly?

To sum up the past five years of history, the petroleum industry, collectively the biggest environmental criminals in existence, has fully taken over the United States and UK governments, and is spreading its influence on every possible level. The World Oil War has begun, under the guise of the 'war on terror'. Environmental activists are now considered 'ecoterrorists'.

On the one hand, the oil is being sold as fast as possible for as much money as possible, with as little regard for the environment as possible. Huge profits are being made in the wake of many global disasters all of which coincidentally come back to oil -- from Katrina to Iraq.

On the other, there is ample evidence that the oil is running out fast. Saudi Arabia is clearly past peak production (based on how much water is being pumped into the ground to get the oil out, and the lack of discoveries of any new fields), as is the United States. There are no honest estimates in public existence about how much of the stuff is really left; we know it's a finite amount in any case; and the corporate powers are intent on making sure that no real alternatives get on the market. The whole issue of taxing vegetable oil in the UK when people pour it into their fuel tanks is an example of this.

Meanwhile, it is clear that the climate is in weird condition; the weather is going wiggy, and there are daily reports of the speed at which the polar caps are melting. Everywhere, scientists are sounding the alarm. And yet the oil is being burned as fast as possible. No bigshot opens his mouth and utters the word 'conservation'. And yet our entire society, from what this computer is made of to the energy that will send the message to you, is oil.

In short, it would seem that the world is headed for a major environmental crisis concurrent with an oil crisis, which will have exponentially compounding effects affecting billions of people. And our governments and corporate governments, intent on making war, oil profits, war profits and various other forms of carbon dioxide profits, seem to be not only back-peddling on progress, but hunkering down, consolidating their power, and most of all, getting ready for something.

What they are getting ready for is a global uprising on the one thing we all have in common: The environment. This includes food, water, weather, safe places to be, energy and economic issues, but the environment is what ultimately unites all people and is the one issue that, when confronted, transcends politics, nationality, race, religion and geography. It transcends any single issue like war or debt.

A massive, global environmental uprising is an inevitability.

At a certain point, it will be undeniable to the great masses of people that something in the ecosystem is wrong, and it will be evident that those who have the power to do something are not only doing nothing, but are pushing progress in the opposite direction and personally profiting along the way. Squandering the Earth for the sake of the few is the greatest crime in history.

Further, economic pressures due to the energy crisis are going to make a lot of natives restless.

The people playing this game -- the 'haves' playing on the 'have nots' -- know exactly what they are doing, and so might expect others to figure it out, too. If I were them, I would be bloody nervous. Particularly with the Internet loose and in the hands of hundreds of millions of people. That would scare the wits out of me if I were in that position and intent on keeping a grip on information, particularly preventing the spread of information about the political situation and the condition of the planet.

Meantime, perpetuating a campaign of war, racism, bigotry, hatred, fear and greed through the 'mainstream' media would be THE obvious way to keep people anesthetized and entertained to death long enough to get away with the crime.

There is a line being drawn, and it's the green line in the sand. When does it all begin? Well, it's already begun, but as outer planets change signs -- Pluto into Capricorn, Uranus in to Aries, Chiron and Neptune in to Pisces to name four -- all between now and 2011 -- the situation is going to escalate rapidly. These are not aspects or placements that come and go quickly; to the contrary, they show up for long durations, and form powerful aspects that are well known to provoke mass uprisings and revolutions.

This escalation of energy includes the global environmental situation, and also the resulting standoff between the people of the Earth and those who pretend to be their masters, wardens and barons.

What is clear, as well, is that there will be intervening factors. History is never an orderly, step by step process like those who try to manipulate it make it seem in their news conferences. And it would appear from the astrology of the next lunar cycle -- which encompasses two eclipses, one of the Moon and one of the Sun a month from Wednesday -- that we'll get a glimpse of what some of those intervening factors are about.
