Today is the exact day of the first Mars-Chiron conjunction in Aquarius in more than 40 years. With supporting aspects from Venus and the Sun, this is really some extraordinary astrology, and what I would call the initiation of a new cycle of awareness. Mars-Chiron conjunctions have long felt like significant events, meaningful as points of setting intention, raising consciousness and directing the energy of Mars into passion, creativity and pleasure.

Because Chiron is so intensely aware and carries that awareness into every aspect, we're also likely to get a lot of information about the nature of conflict in the world. Watching CNN a moment ago, it occurred to me that all this stuff that happens does not 'just happen'. People make it happen. The same is true with everything in the world. The point being that we always have the option to make something different of the world, particularly if we're willing to start in small ways, and with ourselves.
