At the top of the Eiffel Tower is this wax figure representation of the designer, Gustave Eiffel (1832-1923), being presented one of the original phonographs by guest Thomas A. Edison. Eiffel's daugher Claire looks on. The scene is taking place in what was Eiffel's office at the top of the tower, which was completed in 1889. It's difficult to appreciate the engineering feat of this structure until you go there and see it. Tomorrow we'll post a photo that catches a glimpse of the structure's delicate grandeur.
